Welcome to our NZGSE interns!

We are very lucky to have two interns from the New Zealand Graduate School of Education working in our learning team. They are here until the end of term.

Miss Emma Grigg is based with Room 9A and Miss Jane Chuang is based with Room 9. Below they introduce themselves:

Miss Emma Grigg

  • Currently in my 3rd term at NZGSE, I was previously at Mairehau primary school with years 1/2 and then Riccarton primary school with years 7/8
  • I have a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Education
  • Before this I was working as a Personal Assistant for a health and safety company. I have worked at the CDHB, NZ Fire Service, NZ Police and NZ Immigration
  • Growing up I lived in Tonga, Singapore and London
  • I compete in Dragon Boating – a relatively unknown sport
  • I also used to run my own makeup artistry company after working as a makeup specialist for the body shop nz
  • My love for children and passion for education brought me back to retrain as a teacher

Miss Jane Chuang:

Hi, my name is Jane Chuang (otherwise known as ‘Miss Chuang’) and I will be a student teacher for the next 7 weeks in your child's classroom. I am working towards a Graduate Diploma in Teaching (Primary) through New Zealand Graduate School of Education. This is the fifth term of my training as a teacher. Prior to this, I was an ESL teacher in Taiwan, working with children from the age of four to thirteen, for two and half years. I'm looking forward to this unique learning opportunity at Parkview.

I'm originally from Taiwan, but grew up in Palmerston North and spent a year in Japan as an exchange student after finishing my Bachelor of Business Studies major in Accountancy at Massey University. After years of working as an accountant, I decided to switch career to venture into the excitement of working with children. Besides getting practical experience with children, I had helped out at Sunday school for a few months and have been coaching kids’ soccer in the weekends. In my spare time, I like to watch rugby, bake, and travel.

I will be working with the students in your child's class, alongside Ms de Thier, in various capacities of both small and large groups in math, science, reading, and any other opportunities that I may be given. I'm excited to work with your child this term. Please email me at jane.chuang@nzgse.ac.nz if you have any questions. I would welcome the opportunity to get to know you along with your child.
